The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has officially launched a 30-day Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise across the country.
Registration Timeline
The exercise kicked off on March 30, 2026, and will run until April 28, 2026, giving eligible Kenyans an opportunity to register as voters or update their registration details.
Targeting New Voters
IEBC is particularly encouraging young people who have attained the age of 18, as well as eligible citizens who have not yet registered, to take advantage of the exercise.
The initiative is part of the commission’s broader efforts to expand the voter base and enhance accessibility to registration services nationwide.
Registration Centres
To ensure wide coverage, the commission has deployed registration services to multiple locations, including:
- County Assembly Wards (on a rotational basis)
- Universities and colleges within constituencies
- Huduma Centres
- IEBC constituency offices
- IEBC Customer Experience Centre at Anniversary Towers in Nairobi
IEBC says this approach is aimed at making the process convenient and accessible to citizens across different regions.
Areas Excluded
However, the commission clarified that the exercise will not be conducted in areas with ongoing electoral processes.
These include:
- Porro Ward
- Endo Ward
- Emurua Dikirr Constituency
Additionally, voter registration will not take place in Malava Constituency and Mbeere North Constituency due to ongoing election petitions.
Call to Action
IEBC has urged all eligible citizens to utilize the 30-day window to either register or update their details, emphasizing the importance of voter participation in strengthening Kenya’s democratic process.
