Kenyan media personality Kamene Goro has opened up about a harrowing near-death experience that saw her hospitalised for 36 days, including time in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
In a candid revelation, Kamene disclosed that at one point, doctors gave her only 12 hours to live, prompting an emergency medical procedure that ultimately saved her life.
36 Days in Hospital and ICU Trauma
Kamene described her time in ICU as deeply traumatic, revealing that many patients she was admitted with did not survive.
She said she was the only one who made it out alive, an experience that profoundly changed her perspective on life, relationships, and loyalty.
Absence of Husband During Critical Moment
The media personality also shared that her husband, DJ Bonez, was not present during her most critical moments in hospital.
According to Kamene, he later explained that it was emotionally too difficult for him to see her in such a condition.
Family Struggles and Financial Pressure
During her hospital stay, Kamene said her mother struggled to raise funds to cover medical bills. She revealed that efforts to recover money owed to her were unsuccessful, as the person in question allegedly blocked communication.
Emotional Moment with Jalang’o
She recalled a powerful moment upon regaining consciousness, finding Jalang’o alongside her emotional mother at her bedside—a memory she says remains unforgettable.
A Life-Changing Experience
Kamene emphasised that the experience reshaped her outlook, making her more intentional about the people she keeps close and how she approaches life moving forward.
