Police have launched investigations into the death of Consolata Githinji, a 22-year-old woman who died after falling from the sixth floor of a short-stay apartment in Kileleshwa.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, raising serious questions about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Timeline of Events
Preliminary reports indicate that Githinji had checked into the apartment at around 4:17 a.m. with a man identified as Tony Odhiambo.
CCTV footage later showed the room door opening shortly after their entry, with indications of a possible struggle inside.
At approximately 4:34 a.m., a security guard was seen briefly entering the room before leaving moments later.
Githinji’s body was later discovered, prompting police response at around 6:19 a.m. Officers arrested Odhiambo at the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
Conflicting Accounts Raise Questions
According to police reports, Odhiambo told investigators that Githinji jumped from the window following an argument.
However, the sequence of events captured on CCTV has raised concerns among investigators and the public, with questions emerging over whether the death was a case of suicide or involved foul play.
