Residents of Kerugoya Town are reeling in shock after the bodies of a man and a woman were discovered inside a rented house under mysterious circumstances.
Bodies Found in Pool of Blood
The victims were found in a house located in the Site and Service area within Kirinyaga Central.
The man was identified as Timothy Maina, 30, while the woman, identified only as Veronicah, is believed to have been in her 20s.
Nature of Injuries
According to reports, Maina had sustained a deep wound to the stomach, while Veronicah had severe cuts to the neck and forehead.
Two knives were reportedly recovered at the scene, raising further questions about what transpired.
Discovery After Woman Failed to Report to Work
A local resident revealed that the bodies were discovered after Veronicah failed to show up for work at a nearby petrol station.
Concerned colleagues and neighbours went to check on her, only to find both victims lying lifeless in the house.

Mohammed Jire confirmed that detectives are treating the incident as a murder case.
“We are investigating the murder incident that occurred today,” he said.
Officers have since launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
