Boxer Mbavu Destroyer Lands First TV Appearance

Fast-rising boxer Ferdinand Omondi, popularly known as Mbavu Destroyer, has officially made his television debut following the viral fame he gained from the widely discussed Vurugu boxing match that trended across social media platforms.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, May 11, 2026, Mbavu shared a clip from a television shoot and announced that he would be appearing on Vitimbi, the long-running Kenyan comedy series known for its humorous skits and iconic characters.

The show airs on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation through KBC Channel 1.

Expressing excitement over the milestone, the amateur boxer accompanied the video with a playful caption teasing fans ahead of the episode.

“Nilisema itakua mbayaaaaa mkadhani nabororonja….tupatane @vitimbi leo na apa lazima nipasue mtu mayai….. @kbcchannel1 itakua mbayaaaaa na Nimejaa ngori…. @joseh_bonnie mayai yako moja napasua leo,” Mbavu wrote.

Mbavu Destroyer rose to internet fame after clips from the Vurugu boxing event circulated widely online, earning him attention for his energetic personality and entertaining boxing style.

His appearance on Vitimbi marks a major step into mainstream entertainment as his popularity continues to grow beyond the boxing ring.
