The boyfriend of slain Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology student Alice Riang’a has emotionally responded after social media users allegedly linked him to her death.

Alice, whose body was discovered on Monday, May 11, had reportedly gone missing days earlier under circumstances that shocked her family and fellow students.

On TikTok, a young man identified as @Salvoguy shared a heartfelt tribute mourning the deceased, whom he described as his girlfriend.

“Why Sabby?” he wrote before adding, “Rest well, my love. Your inestimable love and humanity at large will never be forgotten. You are engraved in our hearts, and there you’ll be treasured for the rest of our lives.”

Following the emotional post, many users flooded the comments section with messages of condolence, while others reportedly began speculating and making accusations linking him to the murder.

In response, the grieving boyfriend pleaded with online users to stop spreading unverified claims, saying the accusations were worsening his pain.

“Just allow me to be. Stop creating more wounds, please. Let the authorities do their job and allow justice to prevail. Allow me to mourn my girlfriend in peace,” he wrote.

He further urged those making allegations to report any evidence to investigators instead of using social media to spread speculation.

“You have aired your opinion, and it’s fine. I believe you know the right channels to present your concrete claims. This is not a Netflix movie. You are just hurting me. You are interfering with my brand. Just don’t post,” he added.

The case continues to attract widespread public attention online as investigations into Alice Riang’a’s death remain ongoing.

Earlier, police in Bondo arrested a Tanzanian gold dealer in connection with the murder after the student’s body was discovered in a thicket near Barkowino area within Bondo Township.
