A police officer attached to the Security of Government Buildings (SGB) unit in Nairobi has been arrested after allegedly losing his firearm at a massage parlour along Monrovia Street in Nairobi’s Central Business District.
According to reports, the officer told investigators that he had placed his Ceska pistol under a pillow before falling asleep after receiving a massage.
He allegedly woke up later only to discover that the firearm was missing.
Police officers visited the scene, documented evidence and launched investigations into the incident as detectives from DCI Central intensify efforts to recover the missing weapon.
The incident has sparked reactions online, with many Kenyans questioning how a trained officer could lose a government-issued firearm under such circumstances.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any suspects have been arrested in connection with the missing pistol.
