A Kenyan national is being held in detention in Abu Dhabi following his arrest on the night of April 19 under circumstances that remain unclear.
The man, identified as Josephat Chege Kung’u, is originally from Kiganjo in Thika.
According to reports, Chege works for Super Hygiene and was off duty on the day he was arrested.
He had reportedly spent time with friends before failing to return to his accommodation that night.
His disappearance was only noticed two days later after a colleague became concerned when repeated attempts to reach him went unanswered.
The employer later contacted authorities, who confirmed that Chege was being held in CID cells.
However, officials have not publicly disclosed the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
Unconfirmed reports suggest the case could be linked to an alleged drug-related matter, although no official details have been released.
Family members and friends are reportedly seeking more information regarding his condition and the nature of the charges he may be facing.
