The body of Fraser Ogachi Ontiri, a 27-year-old Kenyan from Bomachoge, has finally arrived back in Kenya from Dubai after spending four months in a mortuary due to unpaid repatriation costs.

Family Unable to Raise KSh1.9 Million

According to reports, Fraser’s grieving family had struggled to raise the approximately KSh1.9 million required to facilitate the repatriation of his body.

The prolonged delay left relatives devastated and uncertain about when they would finally be able to bring him home for burial.

Kenyans Step In to Help

The family’s painful story touched many Kenyans, prompting well-wishers and members of the public to contribute funds toward the repatriation process.

Their support eventually made it possible for the body to be flown back home.

Emotional Reception at Airport

Family members, relatives and friends gathered emotionally to receive Fraser’s body upon arrival in Kenya, marking the end of months of anguish and waiting.

Burial preparations are now underway in Kisii County as the family prepares to lay him to rest.

The incident has once again highlighted the financial difficulties many Kenyan families face when trying to repatriate loved ones who die abroad.
