A Kenyan family is seeking answers after their relative, Simon Karongo Itati, mysteriously disappeared from contact while living in the United States more than a decade ago.
According to family members, Simon relocated to the US in 2010 after successfully securing a Green Card through the Diversity Visa Lottery programme. He reportedly settled in Huntsville, Alabama, where he lived and worked as he pursued a new life and career opportunities abroad.
Relatives say communication with Simon remained regular during his early years in America, giving the family confidence that he was doing well and adjusting to life in a foreign country.
However, in March 2015, all communication abruptly stopped.
The sudden silence left family members worried and confused, as repeated attempts to reach him through his known contacts proved unsuccessful. Over the years, relatives have continued searching for answers, reaching out to friends, acquaintances and individuals who had previously assisted Simon after his move to the United States.
Despite their efforts, no one has been able to provide reliable information about his whereabouts or explain what may have happened to him.
The prolonged disappearance has left the family living with uncertainty and emotional distress as they continue hoping for answers.
Now, more than 10 years later, the family is making a public appeal to anyone who may have information about Simon Karongo Itati to come forward.
They are urging Kenyans living in the United States, particularly those in Alabama and surrounding states, to help share his story in the hope that someone may recognize his name, know his whereabouts, or provide clues that could help reunite him with his loved ones.
Anyone with information that may assist in tracing Simon is encouraged to contact his family or the relevant authorities.
As the search continues, the family remains hopeful that one day they will finally learn what happened to their missing relative and bring an end to years of unanswered questions.
