Police officers from Muthangari Police Station in Dagoretti Sub-County carried out a targeted operation in Kawangware, Nairobi County, aimed at curbing the sale of illicit brews, drug trafficking, and other related criminal activities.

The operation, conducted on July 2, 2026, led to the arrest of eight suspects linked to various illegal activities in the area.

124 Litres of Chang’aa Recovered

During the crackdown, officers recovered 124 litres of illicit brew (Chang’aa), which was allegedly being distributed within the neighbourhood.

All eight suspects were taken into custody and are currently being held at the police station pending processing and arraignment in court.

Ongoing Security Operations

The National Police Service commended the officers involved for the operation, noting that similar targeted crackdowns will continue across the country as part of efforts to combat illicit alcohol, drug trafficking, and other criminal networks.
