Kenyan actress Trisha Khalid has opened up about the end of her past relationship with former National Police Service Commission (NPSC) Chief Executive Officer Joseph Onyango, describing it as a painful experience that changed her perspective on relationships.

Speaking during a TikTok Live session, Trisha admitted that she was drawn to the promise of a luxurious lifestyle while dating the former senior government official, who was married at the time.

Reflecting on the relationship, the actress said it is a decision she now regrets.

Why she returned the Mercedes-Benz

Trisha revealed that Onyango had gifted her a Mercedes-Benz during their relationship but retained the vehicle’s logbook.

According to her, after the relationship ended, she decided to voluntarily return the luxury vehicle to avoid a public confrontation or the possibility of it being repossessed.

“I told his nephew to come and pick the car. I was avoiding an embarrassing situation, and I feel it was the right decision,” she said.

“I was young and naïve”

The actress said the experience taught her valuable lessons and urged young women not to pursue financial comfort through relationships with married men.

She noted that although she had been seeking a “soft life,” the relationship ultimately affected her peace of mind.

“I was young and naïve back then,” she added.

Trisha said she has since moved on from that chapter of her life and hopes others can learn from her experience when making decisions about relationships.
