KILIFI, Kenya — A 23-year-old man died after he was allegedly electrocuted while working on the roof of a church in Mabirikani area, Kilifi Town.

The deceased, identified as Peter John Mwaboga, was reportedly among workers involved in the construction and repair of the roof at the worship centre when he came into contact with an electrical current.

Mwaboga is said to have suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Police officers visited the church and documented the scene before launching investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation is expected to establish how the young man came into contact with the electrical current and whether adequate safety measures were in place at the construction site.
