Nairobi, Kenya | Wednesday, August 5, 2026 | 1:05 PM EAT:  Carol Kim, the second wife of gospel singer and philanthropist Karangu Muraya, has shared what she described as her final WhatsApp conversation with her late brother-in-law, Kagema, offering followers a glimpse into their last exchange before his death.

The screenshot, which Carol posted on her Instagram Stories, captured a brief conversation spanning Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25, with the messages reflecting concern for Kagema’s health as he received medical care.

The post comes days after Carol publicly spoke about Kagema’s illness and passing, a story that has continued to attract attention among her followers.

Conversation Focused on Kagema’s Treatment

According to the shared screenshot, Carol first messaged Kagema on Friday evening, asking whether the doctor had arrived.

She received a response the following morning indicating that Doctor Ann had not yet visited but that a medical report was ready.

The conversation continued later that day with voice notes and short messages, including Carol checking whether Kagema had eaten.

One of the exchanges included the Kikuyu phrase, “Ni Ngai reke tweterere,” which translates to, “Let us wait on God,” reflecting hope and faith during his illness.

Carol Had Spoken About Caring for Kagema

Carol had previously shared updates about Kagema’s condition, revealing that she spent several days at the hospital supporting him during his treatment.

She also appealed to members of the public to show compassion, saying the family was going through a difficult period as they cared for their loved one.

Her updates drew messages of support from many Kenyans who followed the family’s journey on social media.

Emotional Farewell

The WhatsApp messages contained ordinary conversations centred on Kagema’s wellbeing, including inquiries about his treatment and meals.

Rather than lengthy conversations, the exchanges reflected the everyday concern often shared between close family members during a medical emergency.

Many social media users reacted to the screenshots by offering condolences and words of encouragement to Carol and the Muraya family.

Carol Previously Revealed Kagema’s Illness

Following Kagema’s death, Carol disclosed that he had been diagnosed with tuberculous meningitis (TB meningitis) and extrapulmonary tuberculosis, seeking to clarify speculation that had circulated online about his illness.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), tuberculosis can affect organs outside the lungs, a condition known as extrapulmonary tuberculosis.

Carol said the family faced significant emotional challenges during Kagema’s illness and thanked those who offered prayers and support throughout the difficult period.
