A man in Homa Bay County, identified as George Clement Lugembe, was fatally stabbed at his home following an alleged domestic dispute with his wife, Sheila Shan.
The incident occurred on the morning of Saturday, August 22, 2026, reportedly after an argument between the couple over a female neighbour who had recently lost her husband.
According to reports, Shan had previously warned Lugembe, popularly known as Clemo, against communicating or interacting with the newly widowed woman. She allegedly viewed his interactions with the neighbour with suspicion, leading to tensions in the relationship.
Argument Turns Fatal
The disagreement reportedly intensified that morning shortly before Lugembe was due to leave for his daily activities.
The confrontation allegedly escalated inside the couple’s home, but neighbours did not hear any significant commotion or a prolonged physical struggle.
The situation only came to light when a neighbour noticed blood flowing from beneath the open door of the house.
Upon checking inside, Lugembe was reportedly found lying on the floor in a pool of blood.
He had sustained a stab wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wife Becomes Prime Suspect
By the time neighbours and authorities arrived, Shan was reportedly missing from the scene.
Police have since launched a manhunt for her as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding Lugembe’s death.
The incident has shocked residents, particularly because of the couple’s seemingly affectionate public image.
Just months before the tragedy, Lugembe had reportedly shared photos of Shan on social media, celebrating her as the “apple of his eye.”
Investigators are now working to establish what exactly happened inside the home and the circumstances that led to the fatal stabbing.
