A Kikuyu woman has sparked debate online after revealing how she allegedly left her children at their father’s workplace and disappeared, saying she had reached her breaking point after struggling to raise them with little financial support from their father.
In a viral TikTok video, the woman said she had been shouldering the children’s needs alone while bills continued to pile up.
“After I realized this person was not going to support the kids while I was living with them and the bills were piling up, I asked myself why I was suffering alone,” she said.
Woman Says She Reached Breaking Point
According to her account, she repeatedly asked the children’s father to contribute financially towards their upkeep but claimed her requests were largely ignored.
When the schools closed, she said she decided to take the children to their father.
She packed their clothes and told them they were going to stay with their father. Although she did not know his home address, she knew where he worked.
She then reportedly took an Uber with the children to his workplace.
Upon arrival, she encountered one of the man’s colleagues, who she claimed knew her as his wife and was apparently unaware that the couple had already divorced.
The woman said she asked the colleague to take the children to their father’s office, claiming that she needed to briefly step away to use the washroom.
Instead, she allegedly left the premises, switched off her phone and disappeared.
Father Allegedly Takes Responsibility
According to the woman’s account, the father was eventually forced to take responsibility for the children.
She said he later attempted to persuade her to return and take the children back, promising to contribute towards their upkeep.
However, she declined.
Instead, the woman claimed she offered to support the father and their children financially while taking on what she described as the role of a “weekend mother.”
Her revelation has divided opinion online, with some social media users sympathising with her frustration over allegedly carrying the financial burden alone, while others criticised her decision to leave the children without informing their father beforehand.
The woman’s account has not been independently verified, and the circumstances surrounding the children’s custody and financial support remain unclear.
