Kenyan content creator and model Carrol Sonnie has sparked conversation online after opening up about her views on dating men who have children with multiple women.
Speaking during a recent interview, Sonnie revealed that she would be willing to date a man with up to two baby mamas, but having three would be a firm deal-breaker for her.
According to Sonnie, two previous relationships are something she could potentially navigate, but adding a third mother would create too many co-parenting responsibilities and complicated family dynamics.
Her comments have attracted attention partly because of her own relationship history. Sonnie was previously in a highly publicised relationship with comedian David Oyando, popularly known as Mulamwah, with whom she shares a daughter.
The two eventually went through a bitter and highly publicised breakup, with both parties publicly discussing aspects of their relationship and co-parenting journey.
After their separation, Mulamwah entered another relationship with Ruth K, and the two welcomed a child together before their relationship also came to an end.
Sonnie’s latest remarks have therefore prompted discussions about relationships, blended families and the challenges that can come with dating someone who has children with several former partners.
For Sonnie, however, the line appears clear: two baby mamas may be manageable, but three is where she draws the line.
