Detectives are investigating the Siaya gold mine death of a 35-year-old man who died after he was allegedly assaulted during a disagreement at a gold mining site in Bondo Subcounty, Siaya County.
The incident happened on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Domba Agenda gold mining site in Uyawi Sub-location, Central Sakwa Location, according to police.
The deceased was identified as Zachary Okeyo Odhiambo, who was reportedly working at the mining site.
Police said Okeyo was involved in a disagreement with a fellow worker. During the incident, he was allegedly hit and later fell unconscious.
His workmates reportedly rushed him to Uyawi Sub-County Hospital for treatment. However, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.
