A 16-year-old boy has gone missing after being dragged into a river by a hippopotamus at Nyakach in Kisumu.
Silvance Oluoch was grazing cattle along the banks of River Miriu in Mogonga yesterday afternoon when according to neighbours he fell thirsty.
A report filed at Nyakach Police Station says the boy was attacked when he bowed to drink water from the river. It is said that a hippo suddenly appeared from the river and dragged him under the water.
Since then the boy has not been seen. Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) divers are currently at the river trying to locate the boy.
