The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has summoned lawyer Dunstan Omari for questioning over an alleged police raid at the Karen home of former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i.
Michael K. Sang, a superintendent of police based at the DCI headquarters at Kiambu road in Nairobi has asked Omari to show up for questioning before him tomorrow.
The officer has in the letter said that he is, “investigating allegations of Publication of False Information contrary to section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crimes Act 2018 amongst other offences in regard to alleged invasion and raid of the residence of the former Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Interior and National Co-ordination, Dr Fred Matiang’i on the 9th day of February 2023 allegedly by a “battalion” and/or “garrison” of police officers.”
He has linked Omari who in several TV interviews alleged that a siege happened to a possible offence.
“I have reasons to believe that you, Danstan Omari, an Advocate of the High court of Kenya, is connected to the offence or has information which can assist me in my investigations,” said the DCI.
Omari is a lead lawyer in the case where Matiang’i accused police officers of raiding his home at night.
