A man who could not stomach being rejected by a woman he was eyeing has found himself in trouble. Willy Aswani Okwako is currently facing robbery with violence charges after Christine Njeri Maina accused her of robbing her in Zimmerman estate, Nairobi.
Njeri reported to the police that she was relaxing outside her house on March 9 when Okwako accosted her in the company of another man who she does not know.
According to her Okwako who was armed with a metal rod and a knife demanded to know why she did not like him yet he had all it takes to be a man. Njeri maintained her stand that she did not like him.
Dejected, Okwako left. He however returned a few minutes later and attacked Njeri. He stabbed her three times on the buttocks as neighbours tried to intervene. He also took Njeri’s phone and a Sh1,000 note that was in her pocket.
Njeri sought treatment and reported the matter to the police the next day. The police immediately launched a manhunt and arrested Okwako in the neighbouring Roysambu estate. He had six rolls of bhang at the time of arrest.
Okwako was yesterday presented before Makadara Principal Magistrate Hellen Onkwani and charged with robbery with violence. He was also charged with trafficking six rolls of bhang.
He was released on a bond of Sh800,000. The matter shall be mentioned on July 5 pending a hearing on August 9.
