An autopsy report conducted on the body of a Kenyatta University student who was found murdered and dumped in Jamhuri estate, Nairobi, has revealed that she died of excessive bleeding after being stabbed in the chest.
June Jerop, a Master’s student had gone for a coffee date on March 18 only for her body to be found dumped on the road.
A post-mortem, which took place on Thursday at the Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home in Nairobi found that she had a deep cut in the chest, caused by a sharp object.
“As a result of my examination, I formed the opinion that the cause of death was excessive bleeding due to stabbing. The body had a deep stab wound in the chest, through to the heart,” the pathologist said in his report.
Her boyfriend Jessie Wafula is among three people in police custody after they were arrested in Landimawe area on March 24, six days after Jerop was reported missing.
Detectives investigating the murder case say Wafula who is the main suspect picked the deceased in her Liberty Gardens apartment in South B. They are captured on CCTV cameras in Imara Daima, then in Mlolongo area before the deceased went missing without a trace.
“As a family we want justice. This is a young soul lost. We want thorough investigations done. It will bring justice for June and stop other perpetrators from committing such acts,” said Jerops sister Joyce Jepkemoi.
“We want to know why she was killed and what the motive was …. what she did to deserve such cruelty,” she said.
Police are currently finalizing investigations and are expected to charge the the suspects on April 14
