Mukami Kimathi, the widow of freedom fighter, Field Marshal Dedan Kimathi, is dead.
Mukami died while receiving treatment at Nairobi hospital where she was rushed Thursday night with difficulties in breathing.
She died aged 96 years.
While confirming her demise, her daughter Everlyne Kimathis said her wish was to have the husband´s remains released from Kamiti Prison to and buried at a different place by the State.
