Popular Mugithi singer Lawrence Njuguna alias DJ Fatxo is on the verge of becoming a pedestrian once again due to consistently defaulting on making payments for his pricey Mercedes Benz.
The artist has been making waves on social media after he visited his rural home and opted to cruise around in his old Toyota Corolla. This has made his fans guess that he might have sold his Mercedes Benz due to financial difficulties courtesy of his legal woes surrounding the death of Jeff Mwathi.
However, we have it on good authority that DJ Fatxo has not sold his Mercedes. He has however been asked to return it to the company that sold it to him as he has been defaulting on making payments for it.
The DJ bought the car in August last year as a gift to himself after he constructed a house for his parents.
He was supposed to complete paying for it in three months but is yet to do so. Since then he has been playing hide and seek with the sellers. A person familiar with the matter says the DJ’s latest gimmick of returning to his old Toyota Corolla is part of the scheme.
As it is only time will tell if the DJ will be able to pay for the car or return it. A lot of promoters are currently shunning the DJ because of the negative publicity the death of Jeff Mwathi generated. Several companies have also broken their partnerships with him.
Just two weeks ago, the DJ was denied access to his residential apartment in Roysambu, Nairobi. It remains unclear why he was denied access as the management of the apartment failed to give any reason.
Fatxo who spoke to the press after the incident expressed disappointment noting that he feared for his life. He pointed out that he was tired of the drama and conflict meted on him and affirmed that the law should take its course.
“I’m tired of all this conflict. I’m a God-fearing person. We have a law and I think when it gets to this point, somebody should be guided. I don’t want all this drama. I feel my life is threatened and still somebody is keeping me out of my house from 7 pm to midnight. It is not fair to me,” he said.
