“Nyanza only listens to God and Baba,” admits Jalango, “Unseating Raila is impossible”

ODM rebel MP Phelix Odiwor alias Jalango has now admitted that it is impossible to unseat veteran politician Raila Odinga as the kingpin of Nyanza politics.

During an interview with NTV on Monday, July 10, the Langata MP said that Raila’s grip in Nyanza is unshakeable.

The first time MP said that the people of Nyanza only listen to God and Raila.

“In fact, trying and having the notion that you are going to unseat Raila Amollo Odinga from politics the in Nyanza region is a daydream. Nyanza listens to only two people; God and Baba. We have not gone there to try and say we are the ones to beat him. No,” he said.

He however criticized Raila for concentrating too much on national politics at the expense of what he does at the constituency level.

“Baba is not being blamed for nothing. There are many responsibilities he has had. You know again, when he is a member of parliament, he is not for one area. You’ll be surprised that he is fighting for the whole country. So you find that you think he is not fighting for his area, but he is also fighting for a different place,” he added.

Just last week, Jalango indicated that he had joined hands with President William Ruto so as to learn from him.

Jalang’o said the fact that Ruto has never lost an election drew him closer to him to take home his strategies and ways he can plan himself on becoming the future head of state.

“…I went to Ruto to learn skills of winning elections because Ruto has never lost elections since he entered politics. I went to learn how he (Ruto) has been getting it right whether it’s stealing or other ways,” he said.

According to Jalang;o he is confident that after learning the skills, he will be the first person from the Luo community to become President.

“I’m telling you I’m getting those skills and I know I will become the first person from the Luo community to become president. You will remember the statement I’m telling you today when a boy from Gem constituency gets declared president,” he added.
