Former Migori deputy governor Nelson Mwita passes away

The family of Nelson Mahanga Mwita, former Deputy Governor of Migori County, has announced his passing.

Mr. Mwita, who had previously served as the Deputy Governor, passed away while receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Nairobi.

Current Migori Governor, Ochilo Ayacko, expressed his deep sorrow at the news of Mwita’s passing and extended his condolences to the family and friends of the late Deputy Governor.

He shared a heartfelt message, saying, “It is with a heavy heart that I offer my sincere condolences to the family, friends, relatives, and the entire community of Migori County and all of Kenya for the unfortunate loss of our first Deputy Governor, Hon. Nelson Mahanga Mwita. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this challenging time. I offer my deepest sympathies.”

Nelson Mahanga Mwita had served as the Deputy Governor of Migori County for two consecutive terms, spanning from 2013 to 2022, during the tenure of former Governor Okoth Obado.
