As Kenyans grapple with the soaring cost of living, the government has made the surprising decision to allocate millions of shillings to sponsor a nationwide crusade led by popular American televangelist Benny Hinn.
During a church service in the United States attended by First Lady Rachel Ruto, Hinn revealed the government’s invitation for a government-sponsored trip to Kenya. He shared this news with the congregation, emphasizing the unexpected nature of the offer, particularly coming from the First Lady.
“Something amazing happened; the First Lady of Kenya flew from Nairobi to New York, just for one reason, to ask me to come back to Nairobi for a national government-sponsored crusade,” the pastor announced.
The government has committed to covering all the expenses associated with the nationwide crusade, and while the exact date has yet to be communicated, it is expected to be a significant event.
Hinn further expressed his astonishment at the First Lady’s request, noting that such invitations from a First Lady for a nation-sponsored crusade are rare and have not occurred for some time.
“We haven’t had that in a long time for a First Lady of a nation to come and say we want to have a nation-sponsored crusade. The last time such happened was in Papua,” he added.
While details about the second crusade in Uganda remain undisclosed, the news of these events has sparked interest and curiosity.
First Lady Rachel Ruto’s strong religious faith is well-known, as she regularly hosts prayer sessions at State House and various locations across the country.
