Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs and Sports, Ababu Namwamba, made a heartwarming visit to the home of veteran broadcaster Leonard Mambo Mbotela in Nairobi on Tuesday to inquire about his well-being.

In an official statement from the Ministry, it was revealed that CS Ababu Namwamba presented Mr. Mbotela with the prestigious Hongera Award and a generous cash prize of Ksh.1 million, in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the nation.

The meeting between the CS and the legendary broadcaster, renowned for his iconic ‘Je Huu Ni Uungwana’ program, was a moment of nostalgia as they reminisced about the golden era of radio broadcasting, particularly in the realm of sports commentary, as stated in the ministry’s announcement.
