The top-performing candidate in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations achieved an impressive score of 428 out of 500 marks.
Education Cabinet Secretary, Ezekiel Machogu, unveiled the results on Thursday, indicating that candidates could access their scores by sending their Index Number followed by the letters ‘KCPE’ to SMS Code 40054.
This examination marked the conclusion of the KCPE era as the Ministry of Education progresses towards the full implementation of the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC), phasing out the 8-4-4 system.
CS Machogu shared that more than 1.4 million candidates participated in the examinations and are set to transition to secondary school in 2024 as part of the 100 percent transition initiative.
The results highlighted notable improvements in English and Kenya Sign Language compared to the previous examination, underlining the evolving landscape of education in Kenya.
