Nyamira gang rapes 17-year-old girl after missing their target who had arrived from Canada

Police are hunting down a gang that defiled a 17-year-old girl during a robbery mission in a village in Nyamira Town. The gang of four was targeting a man who had visited his family from Canada where he resides and works.

The incident happened on Sunday, December 16 morning in Gesore village.

The gang also assaulted members of the family as they demanded money and other valuables in the 2 am incident.

Police said the gang had raided the home of a woman aged 87 years and were targeting her son who had visited from Canada.

When their mission failed, they hit his brother with a crude weapon on the head and one of the robbers defiled a form two student who was present.

The gang grabbed mobile phones and tablets of unknown value from the victims and disappeared to an unknown destination, police said.

The defiled girl and injured man were rushed to hospital and admitted for medical attention.
