Police in Bondo sub-county are probing the mysterious death of a 61-year-old man, whose body was found in a guest house within Bondo town on Tuesday morning.

The deceased, identified as Nicholas Ogada Ogol, was discovered by guest house attendants around 10:30 am.

Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo reported that Eveline Atieno, the caretaker of the guest house, alerted the police about finding an elderly man dead in one of their rooms.

Officers from Bondo police station visited the scene and determined that the deceased had checked into the guest house alone at approximately 8:00 pm on Monday, appearing intoxicated.

Kimaiyo mentioned that it was not until 10:30 am on Tuesday when the guest house attendants went to clean up the room that they discovered the body lying on the bed, with approximately 90 HIV treatment tablets beside him.

While confirming the incident, the county police boss stated that the body, showing no visible physical injuries, has been moved to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary pending an autopsy as investigations into the matter commence.
