Detectives are currently in pursuit of a gang responsible for the shooting and injury of an individual during a robbery in the Riruta area of Nairobi.

The victim, who was walking home on the morning of Thursday, January 18, was confronted by a gang on a motorcycle along Ngina Road.

The assailants, armed with a pistol, shot the man in his left hand before robbing him of his Samsung mobile phone and Sh65,000 in cash. Following the robbery, the gang swiftly rode off to an undisclosed location.

The injured man was promptly taken to Eagles Hospital, where he received treatment and was subsequently discharged in fair condition.

Upon investigation, the police visited the crime scene and recovered a spent cartridge of a 9mm firearm. As of now, no arrests have been made.

The incident adds to the growing concern of escalating armed robberies in the area, despite ongoing police efforts to curb such criminal activities.
