A Kabarak University student was fatally stabbed in what appears to be a robbery on Friday morning.

The victim, identified as Derrick Malumasa Sabuni, a 23-year-old nursing student in his third year, was discovered with stab wounds to the stomach along the Nakuru-Mogotio road near Kampi Ya Moto trading centre, according to the police.

Colleagues at the university informed authorities that they found Sabuni on the road, promptly picked him up, and rushed him to the Kabarak University health centre.

Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival, succumbing to a severe stab wound inflicted by an unidentified assailant or assailants.

As part of the investigation into the murder, the police visited both the hospital and the crime scene. The motive behind the murder remains unknown at this time. The location of the incident is frequented by students from the university.

The body has been transferred to Nakuru Municipal Annex Mortuary, awaiting a postmortem examination and further investigations.

As of now, no arrests have been made. Fellow students are urging security agencies to ensure justice for the deceased and to intensify operations in the area to curb such incidents.
