In Bondo, Siaya County, authorities have initiated an investigation into a tragic incident where a 21-year-old woman, Stella Adongo, was allegedly murdered by her husband, Ben Ogweno, over suspicions of infidelity.

Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo reported that the incident occurred at Uhanya beach in Bondo on Thursday night, with the lifeless body of Stella Adongo discovered in a pool of blood in their rented residence.

Kimaiyo revealed that the body was found on Thursday night. This is after she was allegedly beaten to death by her husband Ben Ogweno over suspected infidelity.

Usenge Assistant Chief Manasseh Osuri reported the incident, and preliminary investigations uncovered that the husband, a fisherman by trade, accused his late wife of engaging in an extramarital affair.

“The woman’s body had multiple injuries on the head, face, right thigh and the abdomen, an indication that the suspect had assaulted her using crude weapons, leading to her death.”

The suspect, Ben Ogweno, is currently at large, but law enforcement is actively pursuing him.

Stella Adongo’s body has been transferred to Bondo Sub-County Hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination as investigations continue.
