Police in Homa Bay are actively investigating the tragic murder of 76-year-old Lucas Ouko Opuge, who was fatally stabbed in Lower Kodhoch, Rachuonyo East Sub County on Tuesday night.

The grim discovery of Opuge’s lifeless body, immersed in a pool of blood, was made by neighbors on Thursday morning just a few meters from his residence.

Sources indicate that Mzee Opuge was last seen on Tuesday evening consuming alcohol at a nearby homestead.

Lower Kodhoch Sub-Location Assistant Chief, Daniel Odanga, confirmed the incident, revealing that the elderly victim had been stabbed in the chin with a knife by unidentified assailants who managed to escape after the brutal act.

In response to the tragedy, the deceased’s body has been transferred to the Rachuonyo South Sub-County Hospital mortuary as investigations into the shocking incident continue.

Authorities are diligently working to unravel the circumstances surrounding this heinous crime in Homa Bay.
