Homicide detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have commenced investigations into the sudden death of actor Charles Ouda.
Ouda took his own life on the night of February 3 after coming home from a wrapping up party for the popular Maisha Magic series Salem where was one of the main actors.
His family is yet to give the cause of his death but sources have confirmed to us that he handed himself using a belt at the balcony of his apartment in Westlands, Nairobi after excusing himself to go and smoke.
A team from the DCI headquarters visited the scene on Monday as part of the investigations into the incident. Security sources have said that investigators have talked to those who discovered the actor’s body.
An autopsy is set to take place on Tuesday to establish how he died.
“They want to know what happened,” an officer aware of the incident said.
The actor who is renowned for his roles in popular shows like Makutano Junction, Junction Junior, Second Family and Salem seemed ok on the last day he was seen alive.
He was not suffering from any known ailments, according to those who know him.
