Gor Mahia’s star striker, Benson Omalla, is set to embark on a six-month loan stint with Algerian club Jeunesse Sportive de la Saoura, popularly known as JS Saoura.

Dismissing previous unverified rumors connecting Omala to USM Alger, Gor Mahia confirmed the player’s commitment to the team.

Head coach Johnathan McKinstry emphasized that the club had not received any official offer from USM Alger and clarified that no formal contact had been established with the player or the club regarding a potential transfer.

Omala, coming off a stellar 2022/23 season with 26 goals in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League, had earlier been linked to clubs both within and outside Africa. These included South African giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, as well as Tanzanian champions Yanga.
