Detectives are currently investigating the tragic incident involving the discovery of the decomposed body of a prison warden in her residence, suspected to be a suicide.

Linda Machuma Wafula’s lifeless body was found on Sunday in Tumaini Estate, Kitale, following reports from neighbors who detected a foul odor emanating from her house. The police were alerted, leading to the discovery of Wafula’s body leaning against a double-decker bed.

Wafula was last seen on February 1 at her residence, and upon examination on Sunday, an electric cord was found tied around her neck. Despite a thorough investigation of the scene, no suicide note was discovered in her home. Crime scene investigators processed the area, and her body was subsequently taken to the Cherangany Nursing Home Mortuary.

The incident adds to the growing concern over the increasing cases of suicide in recent months, emphasizing the urgent need to address this pressing issue.
