Ukraine said Tuesday that Russia attacked overnight with 23 drones, including targeting the eastern city of Dnipro where officials reported damage to a power plant.

Mayor Borys Filatov said on Telegram that infrastructure had been hit, but did not specify what was struck or the extent of the damage.

Private energy provider DTEK said on Telegram one of its thermal power plants was seriously damaged by Russian attacks, causing it to halt electricity production.

The company said there were no casualties.

Serhiy Lysak, the regional governor, said Russia had carried out a mass attack on the region, with Ukrainian air defenses shooting down 10 drones in the Dnipro area.

In total, Ukraine’s air force said air defense destroyed 16 of the 23 Russian drones, with others being intercepted over the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
