President William Ruto encountered a brief dark moment when two power outages occurred during an executive meeting, forcing him to deliver his speech in darkness.
The two incidents which occurred within a span of five minutes of each other happened during the closing stages of the National Executive Retreat in Naivasha on Wednesday, February 21.
while addressing Cabinet Secretaries and elaborating on his government’s agenda and his reasons for selecting them to assist him in fulfilling his mandate, Ruto found himself momentarily struggling to continue his speech as the lights went off.
“The reason why I appointed you is that I knew you have the capacity to do the job you are doing…” Ruto explained before the first power outage occurred.
The interruption happened twice with the second outage coinciding just as he was nearing the conclusion of his address.
Despite the unexpected interruptions, Ruto chose not to comment on the matter and instead forged ahead to conclude his speech, displaying composure and determination to deliver his message.
