A family is in mourning after their one-year-old boy drowned in a basin full of water in their home in Ruai, Nairobi.
The mother informed the police that she had left the child playing in the house on the night of Sunday, March 10.
There was, however a basin full of water in the house.
Upon returning, the mother discovered the child’s lifeless body in the water. Despite raising an alarm for help, it was too late.
The mother urgently rushed the child to Precious Life Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The police visited the scene, and the body was subsequently moved to the mortuary as investigations continue.
