A man from Silibwet, Bomet County brutally murdered his two children, his niece, and a house help, in a chilling and horrifying attack with a machete on Friday, March 01.
The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Robert Kilel, reportedly armed himself with a machete before embarking on the killing spree. The four victims unfortunately succumbed to their injuries from the attack.
Confirming the incident, Bomet Central sub-county Deputy Police Commander Ali Bashir stated that the victims included the man’s children, a two-year-old daughter and his sixteen-year-old son. The others included his eight-year-old niece, and their house help.
“The man returned to his residence while his wife was in Silibwet town. He was armed with a Maasai machete and immediately attacked his daughter, slashing her under the cheek,” he said.
“He then proceeded to kill his niece in a similar manner before inflicting multiple wounds on the house help. The 16-year-old boy attempted to flee, but Kilel caught up with him.”
The bodies of the deceased have been transported to Tenwek Hospital mortuary.
A manhunt is currently underway for the assailant, who fled the scene soon after the gruesome incident.
