Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Kalle Rovanpera clinched the title of WRC Safari Rally Kenya 2024 champion.
Securing a commanding victory on Sunday afternoon, Rovanpera claimed his second Safari Rally Kenya win, leading a 1-2 finish for Toyota Gazoo Racing.
Rovanpera comfortably outpaced his GR Yaris teammate, Takamoto Katsuta, with M-Sport Ford’s Adrien Fourmaux rounding out the podium.
With a winning margin of 1 minute and 37.8 seconds, Rovanpera led the rally since Friday morning, notching up his 12th career victory in the process.
Reflecting on his triumph, Rovanpera remarked, “It’s always special to win here. Like they say in Africa: the car in front is always a Toyota.”
The Finnish driver established a substantial lead of nearly one minute after dominating all of Friday’s challenging stages strewn with rocks around Lake Naivasha.
