A man is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Kisii South after being assaulted over an alleged debt of Sh1,800.

The victim, aged 42, was attacked on Wednesday around 10 am by a group of five individuals—three men and two women.

The debt was reportedly owed to the man by one of the women involved in the attack, which took place at Obwari village in Boroko Sub County, Bomaria Location within Kisii County.

According to the police, who are familiar with both the victim and the perpetrators, the attackers inflicted severe cuts to the man’s testicles. Additionally, he sustained injuries to the upper jaw of his mouth.

The victim was rescued by bystanders who transported him to a hospital in Gesongo, where he is currently receiving medical attention.

The assault was reported to the police at Igonga station by the victim’s sister.

Authorities have stated that the victim’s condition is stable, although he may require specialized treatment and is awaiting referral.
