The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has released the burial schedule for the seven military officers who tragically died in a chopper crash alongside Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla on Thursday.

According to the plan, the officers will be laid to rest from April 25 to May 11, in line with military protocols and honours, and guided by the wishes of the fallen soldiers and their families.

Funeral services will be held at the Moi Airbase, Eastleigh in Nairobi today, Wednesday.

Sergeant Rose Nyawira, the photographer attached to the CDF press unit, will be buried on Thursday at her Kagio home in Kirinyaga.

Senior Sergeant John Mureithi, an Air technician from Kirinyaga, will be laid to rest on Friday (April 26) at his Kirimunge home in the Kanyeki location.

The funeral service for the late Duncan Keitany, who was in charge of operations at Defence headquarters, is set for Saturday (April 27) at Saos village, Eldana Ravine in Baringo.

Late Major George Magondu, a pilot, will also be laid to rest on Saturday at his Karemeno home in Kieni, Nyeri.

On April 30, late Lieutenant Colonel David Sawe, an officer in charge of works maintenance at Defence headquarters, will be buried at his Kapkorio home, Sarora location in Nandi.

Sergeant Cliphonce Omondi, a security officer attached to the CDF, will be laid to rest on May 3 at his Ndiwo home, West Alego in Siaya.

The burial of Captain Hillary Litali, the Aide-de-Camp to late General Ogolla, has been scheduled for May 11 at Ndalu scheme in Tongaren, Bungoma.

Brigadier Swale Saidi (Brigade commander Engineers brigade) and Captain Mohamed Sora (Pilot No.53 Squadron), the other two officers who perished in the accident, have already been laid to rest. Their burials were conducted on Friday, a day after the accident.
