The relentless downpours sweeping through neighborhoods and streets nationwide have taken a toll on a vital intersection in Nairobi’s CBD leading to the disruption of transport services.

At the junction of Kenyatta Avenue and Moi Avenue, outside Nairobi Sports House and Imenti House, two towering trees were uprooted by the heavy torrential rains, obstructing key entry and exit points.

The incident occurred Wednesday morning, with one tree crashing onto Imenti House, impacting several businesses.

Operations in the area have ground to a halt for much of the morning as pedestrians are rerouted to alternative pathways.

Traffic police are onsite, guiding vehicles towards alternate routes.
