The Milimani Anti-Corruption Court has issued summons for six suspects implicated in the graft case involving former Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria.

Among those summoned are Patrick Kagumo Mukuria, Jane Wanjiru Mbuthia, David Maina Kiama, David Maina Njeri, and Peter Muturi Karanja, all allegedly linked to the multi-million scandal.

Additionally, two companies, Top Image Media Consultants and Value View Limited, have been called to appear in court on April 29, 2024, as per the Office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DPP).

“The suspects, charged alongside the former Murang’a County governor, his wife, and brother-in-law, face allegations ranging from abuse of office, unlawful acquisition of public property, conflict of interest, to money laundering,” stated the ODPP.

The prosecution team, comprised of Mercy Gateru, Kennedy Panyako, and Linda Otieno, is handling the case.

Last week, Wa Iria’s wife and brother, accused of embezzling Ksh351 million, were unconditionally released following a High Court order suspending their prosecution.
