A Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officer based in Molo, Nakuru County, is facing scrutiny after allegedly shooting a boda boda rider named Keitanyi.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday night after Keitanyi had dropped the officer’s wife at her home in Ole Polos.
Recounting the ordeal from his hospital bed at Nairobi Women’s Hospital, Keitanyi described how the officer confronted him moments after he had dropped off the woman.
“I picked up a passenger who asked me to take her home in Ole Polos. When we arrived, I dropped her off at the second gate. That’s when I saw an older man waiting there,” Keitanyi narrated.
“The man then started questioning me about where I had come from with his wife. He harassed me and demanded that I push the motorbike to his place. I found myself bleeding badly and struggled to get away,” he added.
According to police reports, the officer is currently in custody. His pistol, which contained 14 rounds of 9 mm ammunition, has been confiscated as investigations continue.
