Veteran goalkeeper Patrick Matasi has broken his silence after an unverified video allegedly linked him to a match-fixing scandal.

The video, which has been circulating online, appears to show an individual plotting how to manipulate match results. In response, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) released a statement promising a thorough investigation while reiterating their strong stance against match-fixing.

Matasi, who currently plays for Kakamega Homeboyz, has now spoken out through the club’s owner, Cleophas Shimanyula.

“When the first video emerged on Wednesday night, I sent it to him, and his response was that he knows nothing about it. I shared the second part with him, but he said that is not him in the video. He is shocked by the videos,” Shimanyula told the Daily Nation.

The FKF investigation into the matter remains ongoing.
