Kenyans applying for Identification Cards (IDs) will no longer be required to pay application fees, and those seeking passports will not be charged verification fees.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen announced the fee removal following the official gazettement of a notice implementing President William Ruto’s directive. Murkomen emphasized that the government would now handle the verification process entirely, meaning citizens would not bear any costs for it.
This move aims to ease financial burdens on Kenyans and streamline the application process for essential documents.
